New drinks for Rush I




First of all, not all cocktails are totally new in the menu. I kept some cocktails like they are [though I haven't seen drinks like that in the UAE, yet - so for here they are new] - some I gave a mild update... you will see:







The Last Word
Yeah - I had to put this on the menu - as this is a kick-ass cocktail. Really complex and challenging, it is the antipode of an easy nightclub cocktail. 


Rush G&T
I believe, that you can only convince guests, to get to your more... outlandish creations, if you do some simple drinks right. This gin & tonic will feature a healthy dose of gin [not only 1 shot which is standard, if you are ordering a normal g&t], but also adds orange bitters and a corresponding garnish - a spear of rosemary with a lemon and lime wedge. Later on, I will do my own tonic water - however for this I would need quinine, which is not easy to get in the ME.


Rush Cod
People in Rush [especially on the busy promotion nights] are rather club'ish - hence I need to offer also a vodka drink [don't judge me]. A Cape Cod is also known as ordinary Vodka & Cranberry - however the twists are: we replace neutral vodka with an infusion with lemon and thyme;  and we will also not use your average cranberry cocktail [your Ocean Spray - which not even contains 5% juice] but will use organic cranberry concentrate and some apple juice [in this case, processed apple juice - fresh doesn't work here to "prolong" the whole mixer]. Club soda makes all a bit fresher and not too concentrated.

How to use citric acid - and why you might not want to use it anyway!

To be honest, I shied away of this topic, because I think, people can misinterpret this - big time. "Monin Rocks!" - Really?

R ussell S anchez MONIN UAE MONIN Rocks @ HARD ROCK CAFE Dubai  — with   Rhiandro Gardiner  and Louie Aquias  at  Hard Rock Cafe . I have seen this on my Facebook timeline. And well... I wanted to write about Monin since quite a long time, but haven't. However this message was a catalyst, to speak up. It is already a couple of months ago, that I routinely checked the ingredient list of a Monin bottle. ...and was shocked.... Point is, that I have always defended Monin against my US colleagues as decent brand. At least with the products they offered here in the Middle East and in Europe; they came from their factory in France. Most of the ingredients [except lets say in Blue Curacao syrup] were natural. Long time ago, somebody from Monin explained, that this is due to the quite strict regulations in France for syrup - there it is a family culture to drink syrup sweetened water/seltzer.
