Dear Readers - thank you very much for your support! I have reached 60,000 views.

Thank you so much, to all readers for following my blog! When I changed last August from my little [bad SEO'ed] iWeb account, to the blogger platform, I was not sure. It still doesn't feel as natural to do some posts as the Apple program - but hell did the views skyrocketed! I can remember that my all time views after 4 years of www.opinionated-alchemist.com via iWeb was around 6,000 views. Now not even one year later on blogger, we are talking of 60,000 views - which are even growing day to day quite stable. Well yes - I am easier to find. By the way - the most read post was my post, which compares ginger ale with ginger ale . Thank you very much google - a lot of people are looking apparently for an answer here. Second most successful post was my post about the El Diablo. I never thought, that this drink can be so successful - yes, I like the drink, but who knew, that so many people join my taste? And then on a surprisingly "low" number...

The El Diablo

There are few mixed drinks, which I really appreciate as top notch - and even fewer in the category of highballs and long drinks. The El Diablo might be invented in the 1940's but the exact history remains unclear. There was actually a panel who discussed this drink for the New York Times . There the El Diablo didn't fared well with the taste of the panelists. Personally I have came across this drink more than a decade ago. And as soon as I tasted it, it became one of my favorite tequila drinks. Maybe poor products and poor measures can put this drink off - but produced properly, there is a lot of magic, which is created, when the sum is greater than the parts. El Diablo [the devil] 5 cl   100% agave tequila [blanco or reposado] 1.5 cl fresh lime 1.5 cl Crème de Cassis 12 cl  Ginger Ale Squeeze the lime juice into the ice cube filled highball glass. Add tequila and ginger ale. Float with crème de cassis and stir briefly. This is a very simple recipe. But fo...

New Drinks for Rush III

Four more drinks, which I like to introduce to Rush: Bellini Sgroppino This drink is a fusion between a classic Bellini and a quite contemporary Sgroppino, which is a sparkling wine drink, featuring lemon sorbet. Here we substitute the lemon sorbet, with white peach sorbet, to create the bridge between sgroppino and bellini. Basil Smash There are only few drinks, which we keep as they are - the Basil Smash is one of them. Already recognised as modern classic- it was the brain child of Joerg Meyer, the owner of the fantastic bar Le Lion in Hamburg / Germany. It revives [as well as violates] the archaic category smashes with the changes of adding citrus juice and substitute mint with fresh basis. Not yet sure, if we will use Asian fragrant basil or the classic Italian rather sweet variety... Ultimate  Mojito Now this drink was tricky. I wanted to depart the usual path, to vary the classic Mojito with any muddled fruit, fruit puree, syrup or liqueur. And I also wanted to...
